Education Committee

Education is one of the most vital areas in which the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is involved – from the annual conference to small local meetings. It is essential that we offer access to high-quality educational tools and events to our members and also support our members to organise their own events.

The ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Education Committee is responsible for the programme of all educational meetings of the society, including those organised by the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s sections. The Committee considers all aspects of education in gastroenterology. It is responsible for considering applications for financial support in regard to attending conferences and educational training courses and it advises on nominations for such fellowships and awards. In considering the education strategy for the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø it is important that we remain aligned with the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø mission statement, specifically by supporting the strategic pillar of service improvement and advancing knowledge, so that the Society remains a resource of high quality information, guidance and education.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Education Strategy
The ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is delighted to publish this Education Strategy, which builds on work done over many years and provides an update since the last strategy was published in 2017. This strategy will outline the five key priorities and give an overview and risk review.

Event Endorsement by the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Education Committee

The Education Committee will review and endorse meetings or resources that are deemed relevant and important to members of the Society. Endorsed meetings are promoted via the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø newsletters and dedicated emails, and across our various social channels.

Management of Gastroparesis

Gastroparesis is derived from the Greek words gastro and paresis meaning paralysed stomach. The clinical condition of Gastroparesis is a result of delayed gastric emptying in the absence of a mechanical obstruction.

The ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is delighted to share with you our latest testimonials and reports written by delegates who received ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Education Travel Bursaries to attend the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Annual Meeting

"As an advanced practitioner, it was great to network with peers through the UK, understanding developments in IBD specialist nursing. Clinically, it was great to get updates in IBD, liver disease, small bowel, and nutrition. My favourite was the NET’s session; this is something that is rarely presented so it was good to get an update. I feel this opportunity has been great to support my fellowship, update me clinically whilst networking with colleagues. Thank you."
